Across northern Tanzania, women come together through Ujamaa Community Resource Team's Women's Rights and Leadership Forums to save, learn, and support one another. What began as a circle of shared savings grew into something much larger. Supported by financial literacy training, savings groups, and livelihood initiatives, women invest in opportunities that strengthen both their families and their communities. During my time documenting this project, I met women using these opportunities to expand small enterprises, create and sell traditional Maasai beadwork and other handicrafts, and build a more secure future through their own skills and entrepreneurship. This project follows the women behind these savings groups, revealing how collective action, resilience, and trust are quietly transforming lives, one meeting, one investment, and one shared future at a time.
